Program Overview

的 Aviation Electronics program prepares students for a career in electrical engineering, aircraft electronics maintenance, piloting and drone maintenance. 的 location in our hangar at 杰拉尔德·R. Ford International Airport allows students to work on real aircraft and offers the opportunity to earn national Aircraft Electronic Technician (让) certification and other certifications usually earned at the college level.

Program Content

Build and troubleshoot electrical circuits
Install and maintain state-of-the-art avionics equipment on working aircraft
Learn how to solder and build wire harnesses
Learn electrical theory and use real electrical test boxes, 示波器, 万用表等, and other electronic test equipment

Learn to fly and operate UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)
Wire and install a variety of aviation electronics equipment
Test and troubleshoot aviation electronics systems
Rebuild electrical systems on working aircraft

NCATT Certifications and 代言

Aviation Electronics is the only high school program accredited by the National Center for Aerospace Transportation and Technologies (NCATT) to earn the Aircraft Electronics Technician (让) certification!

的 Kent Career Technical Center's Aviation Electronics program offers high school junior and seniors the opportunity to gain real world experience working on aircraft at their program location, 杰拉尔德·R. Ford Airport in 大急流城, Michigan

的 program provides students with the education and training to achieve NCATT certification for Aviation Electronics Technician. 的 让 certification is offered to first year students.

让 certified students are able to work in the Aviation Industry as an Avionics Technician.
让 certified students are prepared to enter college to pursue an Electrical 工程 degree.

In addition to 让 certification, first year Aviation Electronics students are offered education and training to achieve Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) certification.

Additional endorsements through NCATT are achieved in the second year of the program.
